![]() ![]() It was just so easy to go month after month and it always felt like something was happening. Finally, there were a ton of combinations so you could mix and match and it was really fun to see the different visual combinations of them as well. They grew up and had formative years where training was more efficient, but each monster had a different rate they aged. ![]() The monsters felt like monsters instead of 1s and 0s and I was able to connect with them. Monols, Galis, Kato, Zuum, Pixie, Dullahan, Color Pandora, are all interesting and come with their strengths, weaknesses, lifespans, likes, and dislikes. I felt there was a lot of monsters and a lot of variety. The monsters were interesting and varied. So while I'm thinking of picking up Monster Farm 2 on the eshop when it comes out, I was wondering if anyone has found another raising sim that hit the same points Monster Rancher has: Monster Rancher DS was fun but I feel like I missed a lot of the breeds I fell in love with and, honestly, I don't remember what else. Monster Rancher Advance 1 and 2 were fine but I was disappointed that the monster crossbreeds were just palette swaps. I played a little of Monster Rancher 4 and while I understand why, I didn't love raising up to six monsters at a time since it didn't feel as personable. I think Monster Rancher 2 was/is a great experience and I really felt that it made the monsters more than 1s and 0s. So, much like a lot of you I really love Monster Rancher.
